Store & customer security
A store handles money and data. The bar must be higher:
- 3-D Secure payments: cards go through the bank, numbers never touch your server.
- SSL at every step: from cart to order confirmation.
- Account protection: hashed passwords and login rate-limiting.
- Daily backups: orders and catalogue can't be lost.
- GDPR compliance: customer data handled lawfully.
Custom, WooCommerce or Shopify: which to choose?
WooCommerce (WordPress) is the fastest route to a store for smaller catalogues and tighter budgets. You edit products yourself and the plugin ecosystem covers most needs. Its limit: as the catalogue and traffic grow, it demands steadily more optimisation and maintenance.
Shopify is a rented platform. It sets up quickly and runs reliably, but you pay a monthly subscription plus commissions, and customisation stops where the platform says it does. An excellent choice for brands selling abroad. That is how we built the store for the US brand Up&Down Supplements.
A custom build (Next.js plus our own CMS) is our speciality for serious stores: the top speed Google rewards, features shaped around your actual processes, no monthly licences and no ceiling on growth. We used this approach for Planika and for our demo e-commerce platform.
How much an online store costs
A smaller WooCommerce shop starts at €1,000. A Shopify setup with custom design lands in a similar range, plus the platform subscription. A custom platform with its own CMS starts at €3,000 and moves with the features and integrations you need. Every price includes the SEO foundation, training and launch support, and the exact quote for your catalogue follows a free consultation. What drives the price is broken down in our guide to e-commerce website cost, and all figures sit on the website pricing page.
How the process works
We start with your catalogue and how you actually sell: what you sell, to whom, how you take payment and how you ship. From that we propose a platform and a concrete quote. Then come brand-led design, the build with every integration (payments, couriers, tax rules), a trial catalogue import and training for your team, and only then launch. Typical timeline: 4 to 6 weeks. That is how Princip Shop came about, with roughly 70% of the solution built to measure.
