GPS Insulators.
GPS Insulators: a B2B site for insulators and power-line equipment. An insulator catalogue by material and voltage with SRPS standards, and an accredited lab.
About the client
GPS Insulators is a family-owned engineering company founded in Belgrade in 1990, named after the three insulator materials: Glass, Porcelain, Silicon. In its own words, it designs, produces and quality-controls equipment for power transmission and distribution, works with Elektromreža Srbije, Elektroprivreda Srbije and Elektrodistribucija Srbije, and names as its largest project the 400 kV line between Bajina Bašta and Obrenovac, with 101,000 insulators.
The company runs a laboratory accredited to SRPS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for six test methods on glass cap-and-pin insulators, has renewed its ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 certificates, and has taken over the Minel Rastavljači brand, founded in Novi Pazar in 1979. The site therefore had to show the accreditation through documents that can be checked, not just mention it.
Challenge
GPS Insulators sells to public utilities, transmission and distribution system operators and contractors. Public utilities buy through public procurement, where an engineer and a tender committee look for the exact insulator type, voltage level and the standard it was made and tested to. It also has three product ranges, including the acquired Minel Rastavljači brand, and an accredited laboratory, so the site had to show both products and testing and stay easy to navigate.
Solution
We built the site on WordPress, with Elementor Pro templates. The catalogue follows the product's logic: three ranges (insulators, overhead-line and substation equipment, disconnectors), then insulators by material (glass, porcelain, silicone) and porcelain further by voltage, up to four levels deep. Glass and porcelain insulator pages share one block: application, characteristics, testing, advantages and availability, citing SRPS standards with their IEC or DIN equivalents. The laboratory has a menu item and a home page section, and its page offers the accreditation certificate, the management system policy and the accreditation scope as downloads. Instead of a contact page the site has three popup forms: general contact, project advice and a testing quote, all protected by reCAPTCHA v3.
Result
An engineer reaches an insulator by material, and for porcelain also by voltage level, and its page shows the application and standard, plus the test standard where one applies. The certificate and accreditation scope can be downloaded and checked before any contact. Project enquiries and testing enquiries come from separate forms, and both ask only for a project description and an email. Pages are edited in Elementor, and news is published as WordPress posts that appear on the home page on their own.
