Mobile app development cost (2026)
How much does a mobile app cost? Realistic 2026 figures from our studio: an MVP app from €4,500, an app with accounts and payments from €8,000, complex platforms from €15,000. On the Western market the same apps cost two to three times more, which puts clients working with a Belgrade team in the rare position of paying local prices for world-grade work. Here's what those figures are made of.
Price by app type
| App type | Indicative price | Timeline |
|---|---|---|
| MVP (minimum viable product) | from €4,500 | 6–10 weeks |
| App with accounts, payments, admin | from €8,000 | 2–4 months |
| Platform (marketplace, multiple user types) | from €15,000 | 4+ months |
The figures cover design, iOS and Android development, the backend and store publication. Maintenance and new features are separate: plan 15–20% of the initial investment per year.
What moves the price most
- One or two platforms. Flutter and React Native allow one codebase for iOS and Android, practically half the cost of native development for both. Native makes sense for games and apps squeezing maximum performance from the device.
- The backend. An app that only displays content and an app with accounts, messaging and real-time payments are completely different projects. The backend is often half the total work.
- Integrations. Payments, maps, notifications, your existing systems. Every connection is designed and tested.
- Administration. Almost every app needs a panel for managing content and users: the item cheap quotes "forget" and bill later.

The MVP approach: entering an app project wisely
The biggest mistake: a year of developing the "complete" app before the first user. Our advice is the opposite: define the one key thing the app solves, cut everything else from version one and put it in front of real users within 2–3 months. That's how we built the Termin app: the first version only did booking, with no loyalty points, no chat and none of the "nice to have". Users said what was actually missing, so every following euro went into what gets used.
Hidden costs you should know about
- Developer accounts: Apple $99/year, Google $25 one-off.
- Servers and services: from €20/month for smaller apps, growing with the user base.
- Updates: iOS and Android change every year. An unmaintained app stops working properly sooner than you think.
An app, or a mobile website?
An honest question before any quote. If you need presence and information, a responsive website is faster and many times cheaper. An app makes sense when you need what a site can't do: notifications that bring users back, offline use, camera and sensors, or daily use where an icon on the home screen is an advantage. Sometimes the right answer is the combination: an online store plus an app for loyal customers.

Frequently asked questions.
How much does a simple app cost?
An MVP with one key feature, for iOS and Android in Flutter: from €4,500. That includes design, development, the backend and publication on the App Store and Google Play.
Is it cheaper to build for just one platform?
Marginally: most of the work (design, logic, backend) is the same. With Flutter or React Native both platforms come from one codebase, so leaving out half the market rarely pays.
Who owns the app's code?
You do. The code, store accounts and all rights belong to you, so any team can continue development later. Sadly we often see the opposite ('the agency holds the app hostage') on projects we take over.
How long does App Store and Google Play publication take?
Google reviews an app within a day or two, Apple usually 1–3 days. We handle the submission, store listings and graphics. It's part of the quote.
