About the project
Azur Travel Demo is our own demo system for travel agencies, put online so that the package catalogue and its administration can be seen before anything is commissioned. Every offer, hotel, price and review in it is invented for display purposes.
The demo is deliberately labelled on every page: submissions are disabled, and neither the licence nor the travel guarantee is valid. We use the same approach with our demo store, because a product you can click sells better than a description, while a labelled demo protects both us and the visitor.
Challenge
Travel agencies usually keep their offer in PDF price lists or on pages edited by hand, so every change of price or departure date needs a developer. The guest, meanwhile, does not choose by the name of a package but by budget, month of departure and transport, which is exactly what such sites cannot filter. It is hard for an agency to commission a system it has never seen, so we needed an example that can be opened and tried.
Solution
We built a demo system in Next.js with a public part and an administration. The public part carries a catalogue by trip type (summer, winter, European cities, last minute), search by destination, month and transport, a price filter in four bands, destination pages, hotel cards with category, number of nights, transport and board, first and last minute sections, guest reviews and a news blog. Structured data describes the business as a TravelAgency. The whole demo runs in display mode: form submissions and newsletter signup are disabled, and every page states that the offers are for demonstration and the licence is not valid.
Result
Instead of a description, the agency gets a finished product it can click through, so the conversation starts from concrete changes rather than guesswork. Because the demo is consistently marked as a demo, it can stand publicly without anyone mistaking the offers for real ones.
